Scientific Seminars

Overview

La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI) hosts a variety of scientific seminars designed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers.

The Walter and Jean Boek Seminar Series, formerly known as LJI’s External Seminar Series, offers several seminars each month throughout the academic year. These seminars are open to LJI scientists, as well as scientists and clinicians from other San Diego medical institutions. The series serves as a platform for in-depth discussions on key topics in immunology. This seminar series is possible thanks to the generous long-term philanthropic commitment from the Global Autoimmune Institute (GAI). Additionally, LJI co-organizes the Program in Immunology Distinguished Speaker Seminar Series in partnership with UC San Diego. This series features lectures from a select group of eminent immunologists, who are invited to speak at both institutions.

Both seminar series are free to attend and are promoted across San Diego’s scientific community, including institutions such as the Salk Institute, The Scripps Research Institute, Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, UC San Diego, San Diego State University, the J. Craig Venter Institute, and local biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

LJI also offers an Internal Seminar Series, tailored specifically for its postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and trainees.
